“Nana I Na Loea Hula” (Look to the Hula Resources) is a special project developed by the Kalihi-Palama Culture & Arts Society, Inc. to preserve and document the legacies of Hawai’i’s present-day hula exponents.  Published in 1997, “Nana I Na Loea Hula” Volume II features photographs by Shuzo Uemoto complemented by first-person narratives of 57 hula resources who share their background, philosophies, and views about keeping the hula alive.
